Two New Programs for Women Empowerment
HNF-HECA announced two new programs in one go: 1) Pension program for widows below the poverty line. 2) Distribution of Sewing Machines after completion of sewing course.
Applications for pension program for widows was available at the head office. Many people lined up to collect and fill out the forms. Filled forms will be analysed by a committee and pension funds will be disbursed to widows that meet the criteria.
A separate program was started in collaboration with Business and Employment Bureau (BEB), another society supported by HNF. BEB provided training in sewing and knitting to applicants. All those who successfully finished the 3 week training received a brand new sewing machine from HNF so that they may sustain themselves.
